哺乳动物，反刍类，身体高大，头小颈长，背上有驼峰，蹄扁平，蹄底有肉质的垫，适于在沙漠中行走。有双重眼睑，不怕风沙。有高度耐饥渴的能力。嗅觉灵敏，能嗅出远处的水源，又能预感大风的到来。供骑乘或运货，是沙漠地区主要的力畜。

骆驼 [luò tuó]

1. 亦作“骆駞 ”。

   1.哺乳动物。躯体高大，背有驼峰，或单或双。蹄扁平，蹄底有肉质的垫。性温顺，能反刍，耐饥渴，可负重致远，是沙漠地区的重要力畜。 汉 陆贾 《新语·道基》：“夫驴、骡、骆駞、犀、象、瑇瑁、琥珀、珊瑚、翠羽、珠玉，山生水藏，择地而居。”《后汉书·梁慬传》：“ 慬 等出战……乘胜追击，凡斩首万餘级，获生口数千人，骆驼畜产数万头。” 唐 韩愈 《石鼓歌》：“氊苞席裹可立致，十鼓祗载数骆驼。” 明 陈继儒 《珍珠船》卷三：“ 赵崇 是轻薄圆头，於 鄂州 坐上佯不识骆駞，呼为山驴。” 冰心 《到青龙桥去》：“除了浅黄色一串的骆驼，从深黄色的山脚下，徐徐走过之外，一切都是单调的。”

2. 虫名。即灶马。

   徐珂 《清稗类钞·动物·灶马》：“﹝灶马﹞以其脊高脚长，故又有骆驼之称。”
