学校教学的科目和进程。有时也专指教学科目。

1. 有规定数量和内容的工作或学习进程。

   《诗·小雅·巧言》“奕奕寝庙，君子作之” 唐 孔颖达 疏：“以教护课程，必君子监之，乃得依法制也。” 宋 陈鹄 《耆旧续闻》卷二：“后生为学，必须严定课程，必须数年劳苦。” 清 顾炎武 《与友人辞往教书》：“有实心向学之机，多则数人，少则三四人，立为课程，两日三日一会，质疑问难，冀得造就成材，以续斯文之统。”

2. 特指学校的教学科目和进程。

   鲁迅 《集外集拾遗·＜浮士德与城＞后记》：“设讲演及学校课程，一般地说，是从事于革命的宣传工作的。”

3. 交纳赋税的限期。

   《旧唐书·职官志二》：“﹝刑部比部﹞郎中、员外郎之职，掌勾诸司百僚俸料、公廨、赃赎、调敛、徒役、课程、逋悬数物，周知内外之经费，而总勾之。”

4. 按税率交纳的赋税。

   《金史·孙铎传》：“ 鐸 上言：‘民间钞多，宜收敛。院务课程及诸窠名钱须要全收交钞。’” 元 王恽 《为驿程量事缓急给限事状》：“切见随路每岁差遣人员赴都，如计禀公事，押运差发课程一切等物者，既还，心欲速得到家，不问铺马生受，日行数站，其马疋不无走损倒死。”《明史·食货志五》：“凡诸课程，始收钞，间折收米。”

5. 规划工程。

   宋 刘昌诗 《芦浦笔记·白玉楼赋》：“惟五城一覩之珍，三献不逢之宝，盖於此山积而云駢。然后大匠课程，羣工谨度，琢瑗礱瑛，鬭珪叠璐。”

6. 考核工作进程。

   清 曹寅 《真州述怀奉答徐道积编修翫月见寄原韵》：“课吏不课程，百里半九十；读书不读律，知一二乃失。”
