1. 眼睛欲闭又开。形容醉态或睡态。

   宋 苏轼 《杜介送鱼》诗：“醉眼矇矓觅归路， 松江 烟雨晚疎疎。”《警世通言·李谪仙醉草吓蛮书》：“天子召 李白 上殿，见其面尚带酒容，两眼兀自有矇矓之意。” 清 蒲松龄 《聊斋志异·尸变》：“四客奔波颇困，甫就枕，鼻息渐粗。惟一客尚矇矓。”

2. 模糊，不分明。

   明 高明 《琵琶记·义仓赈济》：“若还得了两家财物，只得矇矓写个回文。” 清 蒲松龄 《聊斋志异·公孙九娘》：“既而生归，则暮色矇矓，不甚可辨。”
