汉语拼音：sān xǐng

指中书省、门下省、尚书省。中国历史上隋唐时代三省同为最高政务机构，一般为中书决策，门下审议，尚书执行，实际上为三省长官共同负责中枢政务。这一制度对后代的官制影响很大。

1. 省察三事。

   《论语·学而》：“ 曾子 曰：‘吾日三省吾身：为人谋而不忠乎？与朋友交而不信乎？传不习乎？’”后泛指认真反省自己的过失。《后汉书·郎顗传》：“伏惟陛下躬日昃之听，温三省之勤，思过念咎，务消祗悔。” 南朝 梁 江淹 《讨沉攸之尚书符》：“符至之日，幸加三省。” 明 谢谠 《四喜记·月桂同攀》：“孝名儿乾坤永垂，一日里三省吾身。”

2. 指中书省、门下省、尚书省。自 南北朝 至 唐 ，三省同为最高政务机构。

   《新唐书·百官志一》：“初， 唐 因 隋 制，以三省之长中书令、待中、尚书令共议国政，此宰相职也。”

3. 借指朝廷决策机构。

   清 姚鼐 《送方坳堂解官后将之上江》诗：“三省最迟麾出把，九州独许盖先倾。”

4. 特指我国东北三省。

   《东北人民抗日歌谣选·红旗飘》：“齐心合力打 日本 ，收回三省救同胞。”
