明清两代由各省举人参加的在京城举行的科举考试。每三年即乡试的次年春举行一次，录取后称贡士，第一名称会元。会试录取后即取得参加殿试的资格。

2. 太平天囯 在 天京 (今 江苏 南京 )举行的考试。连同乡试，构成 太平天囯 的考试制度。
