被摄体通过镜头在感光片上形成影像的过程。一般指照相、电影摄影和电视摄影。

1. 见“ 摄景 ”。

2. 照相；拍电影或电视。

   郑泽 《壬子秋日钝庵邀摄影像作诗奉呈》：“摄影纪盛游，或左亦或右。” 洪深 《电影戏剧表演术》第一章一：“戏剧对于人生，不能像摄影的对于景物那样，一些不走样地反映。”如：摄影棚。

3. 指照片。

   《孽海花》第十一回：“ 菶如 拆开看了，又拆了那纸包，却密密层层的包着，直到末层，方露出那一张一尺大的西法摄影。上头却是两个美丽的西洋妇人。”

4. 引申指如实反映。

   黄人 《＜清文汇＞序》：“有一代之政教风尚，则有一代之学术思想，蜕故孳新，瞤息不可復省，而有为之摄影者曰史，而有为之留声者曰文。”
