1. 亦作“ 闺閤 ”。

   1.内室小门。借指内室。《史记·汲郑列传》：“ 黯 多病，卧闺閤内不出。”《汉书·循吏传·文翁》：“﹝ 文翁 ﹞每出行县，益从学官诸生明经飭行者与俱，使传教令，出入闺閤。” 南朝 梁 沉约 《谢敕赐绢葛启》：“变溽暑於闺阁，起凉风於襟袖。”

2. 特指女子卧室。

   唐 乔知之 《绿珠篇》：“君家闺阁不曾难，常将歌舞借人看。”《敦煌曲子词·凤归云遍》：“幼年生於闺閤，洞房深。”《红楼梦》第五五回：“众人都想着不过是个未出闺阁的年轻小姐，且素日也最平和恬淡，因此都不在意。” 何其芳 《哀歌》：“乡村的少女还是禁闭在闺阁里，等待父母之命，媒妁之言。”

3. 借指妻室。

   唐 王昌龄 《变行路难》诗：“封侯取一战，岂復念闺閤。”《警世通言·杜十桹怒沉百宝箱》：“ 孙富 道：‘兄飘零岁餘，严亲怀怒，闺阁离心，设身以处兄之地，诚寝食不安之时也。’”

4. 借指妇女。

   宋 袁褧 《枫窗小牍》卷上：“ 汴京 闺阁粧抹凡数变。”《红楼梦》第七八回：“闺阁习武，任其勇悍，怎似男人。” 清 富察敦崇 《燕京岁时记·玫瑰花》：“玫瑰，其色紫润，甜香可人，闺阁多爱之。”

5. 指宫禁。

   汉 司马迁 《报任少卿书》：“身直为闺閤之臣，寧得自引深藏於巖穴邪！”
