在行进中，齐桓公突然看见一个大如车毂，长如车辕，紫衣红冠的鬼站在路旁。' When a person wearing purple clothes have an audience with him, Qihuangong says: ' get back a little, I hate the smell of purple clothes.
刚巧侍从中有穿紫衣来晋见的人，齐桓公说：‘稍微退后点，我厌恶紫色衣服的气味。’But when they came back it was winter. Everywhere was white with snow and the wind was howling. The troops lost their way.
回来的时候是冬天，白雪茫茫，狂风怒吼，于是齐桓公的队伍迷失了方向。So the duke ordered several old horses to be selected to lead the army. Finally, they found the way back home.
于是齐桓公派人挑选了几匹老马在前面引路，果然走出了迷谷，找到了回去的道路。Duke Huan of Qi was reading in his studying room. To keep awake, he read aloud on purpose.
齐桓公待在书房里看书，他怕自己睡着了，所以刻意地将书的内容念出来。In the historical event of "Qihuangong s Attacking the State of Chu" , Qu Wan, an official of Chu, faced Qi Huangong calmly.

大家都很着急，这是，齐桓公的宰相管仲说：“可以利用老马的经验”。Baoshu recommendation on the Lord Huan became Guan Zhong.
鲍叔就向齐桓公推荐管仲。
