1.宋代理学家朱熹的别称。朱熹之父朱松曾在紫阳山(在安徽省歙县)读书。朱熹后居福建崇安，题厅事曰紫阳书室，以示不忘◇人因以"紫阳"为朱熹的别称。

2.传说中古代神仙常以紫阳为称号。如周穆王时李八百号紫阳真君，汉周义山﹑宋张伯端俱号紫阳真人。亦用以泛指道士。
