军事上指为查明敌情、地形和有关作战的其他情况而进行的活动。按活动空间不同，分地面侦察、空中侦察和海上侦察等。

1. 为察明敌情及其他有关作战的情况而进行侦视探查活动。

   沙汀 《还乡记》三：“看见对方忽然罩上一层怀疑侦察的神气，她一顿，于是又叹息了。” 艾青 《小泽征尔》诗：“你的耳朵在侦察，你的眼睛在倾听，你的指挥棒上，跳动着你的神经。”
