液态晶体的简称。一种特殊的有机化合物。在一定温度范围内为介乎液体和晶体之间的状态。它像通常的液体一样具有流动性，而其分子排列又类似晶体，具有有序结构倾向，因而具有晶体光学特性。利用某些液晶在电场、磁场、热、压力等作用下改变透明度、颜色或反射率的性质，可制成显示器。
