汉语拼音：bái jiǔ

用高粱、玉米、甘薯等粮食或某些果品发酵、蒸馏制成的酒，没有颜色，含酒精量较高。也叫烧酒、白干儿。

1. 古代酒分清酒、白酒两种。见《礼记·内则》。

   《太平御览》卷八四四引 三国 魏 鱼豢 《魏略》：“ 太祖 时禁酒，而人窃饮之。故难言酒，以白酒为贤人，清酒为圣人。”

2. 泛称美酒。

   南朝 梁武帝 《子夜四时歌·夏歌》：“玉盘著朱李，金杯盛白酒。” 唐 李白 《南陵别儿童入京》诗：“白酒初熟山中归，黄鷄啄黍秋正肥。” 宋 苏轼 《广陵会三同舍》诗之一：“ 广陵 三日饮，相对怳如梦；况逢贤主人，白酒拨春瓮。”

3. 特指烧酒。又称白干。

   《花城》1981年第2期：“﹝ 方玫 ﹞又在小卖店买了几个罐头，几瓶白酒，非要大家在刚刚修好的新房里吃一顿晚饭不可。”
