   《方言》第三：“ 南楚 凡人贫衣被丑弊，谓之须捷……或谓之襤褸。故《左传》曰：‘篳路襤褸以啟山林。’”《醒世恒言·刘小官雌雄兄弟》：“ 刘公 擦摩老眼看时，却是六十来岁的老儿，行缠绞脚，八搭麻鞋，身上衣服，甚是襤褸。” 清 王士禛 《香祖笔记》卷六：“ 宋 初朝士竞尚西崑体。伶人有为 李义山 者，衣衫襤褸。旁有人问：‘君何为尔？’答曰：‘近日为诸馆职撏撦，故至此。’” 沙汀 《代理县长》：“几个一同跑来‘发财’的随从人员，都陆续逃光了，现在为老爷们服役的是几名褴褛的壮丁。”
