出现在太阳边缘外面的火焰状气体。分宁静日珥、活动日珥、爆发日珥、环状日珥等。有些爆发日珥高达离日面几十万千米，再向日面落下，有时甚至被完全抛出。寿命从几小时到数月，温度约7000k，气流速度约4千米/秒。日珥多寡与太阳活动强弱有关，有约十一年的周期。

1. 日晕的一种。指完整的晕的外侧的小段晕弧。

   《周礼·春官·眡祲》“四曰监” 郑玄 注“监，冠珥也” 唐 贾公彦 疏：“云‘监，冠珥也’者，谓有赤云气在日旁，如冠耳。珥即耳也，今人犹谓之日珥。”
