西欧国家间空间科学技术活动的组织和协调机构。1975年由原欧洲空间研究组织和欧洲运载火箭研制机构合并而成。成员国有比利时、丹麦、法国、德国、爱尔兰、意大利、荷兰、西班牙、瑞典、瑞士和英国等。领导机构是由各成员国代表组成的理事会。任务是宇宙飞行器的研制和试验、气象学研究、天文观测、材料科学研究、行星和行星际空间技术的研究等。总部设在巴黎。编辑出版有《欧洲空间局简讯》、《欧洲空间局杂志》和《年报》等。
